Key Programmes
Engage
1) Play@Qihua Programme
The Play@Qihua Programme provides students with opportunities to stay active and enjoy unstructured play before and after school, during recess and lunch breaks. Through engaging in activities such as basketball, badminton, skipping and table tennis, students develop physical skills while having fun.
Beyond play, the programme encourages students to take ownership by organising their own games and equipment. This fosters important values of care, responsibility, and teamwork, as students learn to set up and keep equipment properly, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
2) Sports Carnival
The Annual Sports Carnival is a much-anticipated event that encourages friendly competition among the four Houses while promoting school values, fair play, and good sportsmanship. It aims to foster a healthy lifestyle and strengthen positive relationships between students and teachers.
During the carnival, students participate in a variety of engaging activities, including Interhouse Games, inflatables, VR games and mini trampoline . Throughout the event, students are reminded to uphold the school values, ensuring a spirit of respect, integrity and teamwork in the activities.
3) Health Fortnight
The annual Health Fortnight features activities such as Milovan, health quiz, Fruittie-Veggie Bite programme, health tips, assembly talks and Anti-drug Ambassador activities. The objectives of Health Fortnight are to educate students about pertinent health topics in a holistic manner and to reinforce positive health behaviour.
Enrich
1) P1 and P2 Structured Play (EAGLETS day)
On EAGLETS Day, our Primary 1 and 2 students engage in a variety of structured play activities designed to develop essential life skills. Through modified games such as Floorball, Basketball, Sepak Takraw, and Table Tennis, students learn the basic rules, game formats, and fundamental skills needed to participate confidently.
Apart from physical skills, these activities also help students cultivate important school values and positive learning dispositions. Through both individual and group activities, students learn to be patient and resilient in the face of challenges, demonstrate team spirit and develop core values such as respect and self-discipline.
2) P3 Swimsafer Programme
All P3 students participated in this 8-week modular swimming programme to develop water competency in a fun and safe way. The SwimSafer programme consists of six progressive stages. Survival and activity skills are taught in each stage of the programme and students work progressively toward the next stage. At the end of the programme, students have a chance to earn a Swimsafer certificate if they pass both the practical and theory components successfully. This opportunity allows them to develop resilience and confidence while building strong bonds of mutual support and friendship with their peers and teachers.
3) P5 Camp
During the Primary 5 Annual Camp, students participate in an array of outdoor activities that are thoughtfully designed to nurture collaboration, problem-solving, and resilience. These activities challenge students to communicate effectively, work together, and support one another in overcoming obstacles.
Over the immersive experience of three days and two nights, students step out of their comfort zones to live independently, away from home for the first time. Throughout the camp, students learn to appreciate the importance of looking out for one another, respecting different perspectives, persevering through challenges, and taking responsibility for their actions — all essential qualities that contribute to their holistic growth as individuals and members of the school community.
