Tamil Language Festival
Tamil Language month is officially commemorated in Singapore during the month of April every year since 2007. The Tamil Language Festival (TLF) was first organized in 2007, aimed at encouraging the Tamil community in Singapore to use the language in their daily lives. The festival is a community effort supported by Tamil organisations, community partners and other agencies. This year, due to Covid restrictions, Woodlands CC organized a virtual Tamil Language Festival. The virtual festival features literary, oratorical and cultural programmes, with “Love Tamil, Speak Tamil” as the theme. The occasion was specially graced by Ms Mariam Jaafar, Grassroots advisor for Woodlands. Some of our Qihuaians participated in the story telling, Tamil poems and proverbs (Thirukkural) recitation competition.
Mother Tongue Language (MTL) Fortnight
Mother Tongue Language (MTL) Fortnight aims to create an immersive environment for learning and appreciating Mother Tongue Languages and Cultures. In Qihua, we provide students with authentic opportunities for them to use MTL and learn about their traditions and culture.

2021 – National schools Tamil debating competition (Primary school series)
The National Tamil Debate (Primary school series) is organized once every 2 years. Through the participation of this competition, our students can improve their proficiency in Tamil Language, both spoken and written, through debating and articulation. Our Qihuaians did us proud in 2021 as our participants, Karthick Adhithi, Narayanan Yuga, BVD Dhanya Shree from 5/1 and Shuruthy Ramkumar from 5/2, made their victorious way to the semifinals.
